Emacs

It’s official. I’m an Emacs user.

I’ve been using it a fair amount for the last two to three weeks, and have grown rather comfortable. I’ve done several configuration things, and am working on building up a decent configuration base for it.

And yesterday, when I fired up Vim to edit something, I couldn’t remember the keys and kept fumbling around trying to use Emacs keys to navigate my document. Yes, I am now completely corrupted.

Emacs may lack a good text editor, but it’s good enough and the other productivity enhancements that come with it (ECB, for example, is amazing, and the integrated shell is snazzy) make it well worth the jump. We’ll see what the impact is on my wrists...
